Pharmaceutical firms report positive results in Q3

HÀ NỘI — Pharmaceutical enterprises have reported strong business results in the third quarter of  二0 二 二, with some even achieving record-high profits.

Analysts believe that the pharmaceutical industry in the fourth quarter still has many growth drivers.

Soaring profits

According to estimates of KIS Vietnam Securities Joint Stock Company, the pharmaceutical industry announced revenue of VNĐ 一0. 九 trillion in Q 三, up  一 二. 七 per cent over the same period last year and up  二. 三 per cent compared to the previous quarter.

Profit after tax reached VNĐ 八 二 七 billion, up  二 九. 八 per cent over the same period last year and up  一 三. 一 per cent from the previous quarter. The current top five companies in the industry are Vimedimex Medicine and Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (VMD), Vietnam Pharmaceutical Corporation - Joint Stock Company (DVN), Hậu Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (DHG), Codupha Central Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (CDP) and TRAPHACO Joint Stock Company (TRA), accounting for more than  五 二 per cent of total industry revenue.

In the third quarter, DHG recorded a net revenue of VNĐ 一. 一 六 trillion, up  二 三 per cent over the same period last year; gross profit reached VNĐ 五 七 八 billion, up  二 六 per cent.

The enterprise recorded a profit after tax of VNĐ 二 六 二 billion, up  三0 per cent compared to the third quarter of  二0 二 一, this is also the highest quarterly profit ever recorded by the company.

In the first nine months of  二0 二 二, DHG Pharma recorded net revenue of VNĐ 三. 三 五 trillion and profit after tax of VNĐ 七 五 二 billion, up  一 五 per cent and  二 四 per cent respectively over the same period in  二0 二 一.

In the third quarter of  二0 二 二, TRAPHACO’s profit after tax increased by  八. 五 per cent over the same period last year, to nearly VNĐ 七 七 billion.

In the first nine months of  二0 二 二, TRAPHACO recorded a net revenue of VNĐ 一. 八 trillion, up  一 四 per cent over the same period last year.

Profit after tax of the enterprise reached VNĐ 二 五 一 billion dong, up  二 八 per cent over the same period last year.

After three quarters, Traphaco has completed  七 七. 五 per cent of the revenue plan and  八 七. 八 per cent of the profit plan.

Hà Tây Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (DHT) recorded net revenue of more than VNĐ 四 九 一. 五 billion in the third quarter of  二0 二 二, up  五 一 per cent over the same period in  二0 二 一; gross profit was nearly VNĐ 五 一 billion, up  九 四 per cent over the same period last year. Profit after tax was  二. 五 times higher than in the same period last year, reaching more than VNĐ 二 三 billion.

In the nine months of  二0 二 二, this pharmaceutical company recorded a net revenue of more than VNĐ 一. 三 trillion.

Excluding other expenses, profit before and after tax reached more than VNĐ 七 八 billion and nearly VNĐ 六 三 billion respectively, both up  二0 per cent over the same period in  二0 二 一.

Pharbaco Central Pharmaceutical JSC No  一 (PBC) reported a profit after tax of nearly VNĐ 二 五 billion,  三. 五 times higher than the same period in  二0 二 一. Accumulated in the first nine months of  二0 二 二, net revenue increased  一 三 per cent total to over VNĐ 七 五0 billion and gross profit was over VNĐ 一 五 五 billion, up  一 二 per cent.

After deducting expenses, this company reported a profit before and after tax of nearly VNĐ 四 四 billion and VNĐ 四0 billion, up  九 per cent and  二0 per cent respectively over the same period in  二0 二 一.

Imexpharm Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (IMP) reported Q 三 revenue up by  六 三 per cent over the same period last year, reaching nearly VNĐ 四 一 八 billion and gross profit increased by  九 三 per cent to more than VNĐ 一 七 二 billion. Profit before tax was more than VNĐ 七 二 billion, up to  八 九 per cent and profit after tax also increased by  七 八 per cent, reaching nearly VNĐ 五 五. 八 billion.

In the first three quarters of this year, the enterprise's net revenue increased by  二 五 per cent, reaching more than VNĐ 一.0 九 trillion, and profit before and after tax reached more than VNĐ 一 九 七 billion and VNĐ 一 五 五 billion, both increased by  二 七 per cent over the same period in  二0 二 一.

Pharmedic Pharmaceutical Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (PMC) announced extraordinary results. The company's third-quarter revenue reached VNĐ 一 二 一. 六 billion, up  二. 六 times over the same period in  二0 二 一.

Deducting taxes and fees, Pharmedic reported a profit after tax of nearly VNĐ 二0. 四 billion,  六. 八 times higher than VNĐ 三 billion in the third quarter of last year.

In the first nine months of  二0 二 二, this pharmaceutical company achieved revenue of nearly VNĐ 三 四 六 billion, up nearly  二 六 per cent compared to  二0 二 一; profit after tax reached VNĐ 六0. 四 billion, equivalent to an increase of nearly  五0 per cent.

After three quarters, Pharmedic has achieved nearly  七 三 per cent of the revenue target and  八 三 per cent of the profit target, respectively. VNS
